The Teachers’ Association of Damascus University honored 59 retired members of the faculty and staff during a ceremony held on the 27th of March in the Rida Said Conference Hall. The Head of the Teachers’ Association branch at Damascus University, Doctor Ahmed al-Mendili, pointed out that the thought, knowledge, and efforts of the retirees will light the way for subsequent generations and has contributed to the renaissance of scientific, intellectual and social development in Syria. 
In turn Dr. Ahmed Qassar said a few words to the retirees, noting that retirement is the station of departure on a new journey that can take many forms. He further explicated the role that the Teachers’ Association plays in the provision of services required by its members in a variety of fields.
The party was attended by Damascus University President Dr. Wael Mualla and Dr. Maher Qabaqebi, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, as well as a number of members of the Party Branch at the University and members of the university faculty and staff.
